Our MissionCBHR is a volunteer-staffed nonprofit organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted basset hounds in North Carolina and South Carolina.
What is a Waddle?
Since 1996, basset hound lovers from across the Carolinas and beyond, have converged on the Charleston, SC area to celebrate their love of basset hounds and their support for Carolina Basset Hound Rescue. The Waddle, our biggest annual fund raiser, is an action packed weekend of yappy hours, meet and greets, auctions, dinners, and pageants that ends with our presence in the famed Charleston Christmas parade.
What is the Wilmington Waddle?
This year CBHR proudly debuts the Wilmington Waddle, a northern and earlier version of our “traditional” Charleston Waddle, as this year’s biggest fund raiser. This three-day event will be held October 18 through 20, 2013, at several locations in the Wilmington, Kure Beach, and Carolina Beach areas on the coast of North Carolina. This event will combine activities from both the traditional Waddle and the annual Howl-o-Ween Party, and include a Casino Night event open to Waddle attendees and the public.
What About the Charleston Parade?
CBHR’s presence has become a favorite of parade attendees of all ages, and that will not change. This year’s Charleston Christmas Parade will be held December 1st, the Sunday of Thanksgiving Weekend. CBHR will participate in the parade as we’ve done for many years, but with no major fund raiser, to avoid any holiday conflicts for our volunteers. As the date approaches, please check our website for details on how you can join with our Charleston area volunteers to march in the parade, and show your Basset Pride!
